At Hacienda Baru, a privately owned National Wildlife Refuge, you can choose from a number of tours and hikes.

Canopy Observation Platform $35
During this 2-3 hour tour, you will ascend over 105 feet to a platform suspended in the canopy of a magnificent tree.

Tree Climbing $45
For the more adventurous, this half-day tour includes instruction in basic climbing and safety techniques.

Flight of the Toucan $35
You'll fly like a toucan from ridge-top cables specially designed to show you the delights of tropical nature. There are eight cables with spans from 20 meters to 91 meters. You will reach speeds of up to 35 kph between the 15 different take off and landing platforms, some on the ground and some in trees.

The Rainforest Experience $35
A full-day natural history tour that is great for birding. Departure is at 7:30 AM and return is usually around 3:30 PM. Lunch is served at a tent camp.
