Hiking
(minimum 2 persons) no charge - $15
The Ojochal/Playa Tortuga area is a hiker's paradise.
You can explore the many roads and trails, streams, and
beaches around the hotel at your own pace. Of special
interest is the waterfall just 4 km from the coastal
highway, through the center of Ojochal. If you're lucky,
you may spot the town's most famous citizen - a five-foot
iguana that is rumored to live near Gringo Mike's restaurant.
You can also explore the Nauyaca Falls close to Dominical.
These falls are formed by two beautiful cascades on the
Baru River that tower 150 ft. and 65 ft. above a sparkling,
20 ft. deep pool with 3000 sq. ft. surface area. The
falls are the centerpiece of the Nauyaca Tourist Center,
which features an extensive network of trails through
a 45 acre wooded area of reforested land and 50 acres
of tropical rainforest.
